What is Excel Tutors?

Excel Tutors is an online learning platform that provides high-quality tutoring for children through interactive virtual classrooms. We support learners academically while building confidence, curiosity, and real understanding.

Who are your programs designed for?

We primarily serve learners aged 5 to 17, across different school systems and learning needs.
Support for older students and adults is available on request.

What subjects do you offer?

We support a wide range of subjects, including:

  • Customized learning requests
  • Nigerian languages (Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo)

Subjects offered depend on the program selected.

What programs do you offer?

We currently offer three main programs:

  • Excel Core & Essentials– structured group + 1-on-1 learning
  • Excel FlexiLearn– fully flexible, strictly 1-on-1 learning
  • Excel Bring-Your-Own-Tutor (BYOT)– use our platform with your own tutor

Families may switch between programs if their needs change.

How do I know which program is right for my child?

  • Grades 2–7→ Excel Core & Essentials (best value and structure)
  • Below Grade 2 or Above Grade 7→ Excel FlexiLearn
  • Already have a tutor→ Excel BYOT

If unsure, our team can help recommend the best option.

Can I run more than one program at the same time?

Yes. Families may enroll a child in multiple programs or enroll multiple children across different programs.

Are classes online or in person?

All classes are 100% online, delivered through our interactive virtual classroom.

How are classes structured?

Depending on the program:

  • Small group classes (maximum of 5 students)
  • One-on-one sessions for personalized support
  • Or strictly one-on-one learning (FlexiLearn & BYOT)

How many students are in a group class?

Group classes are capped at 5 learners to ensure attention, participation, and meaningful progress.

How long are sessions?

  • Group sessions: 1 hour
  • One-on-one sessions: 30 minutes or 1 hour, depending on the program

Can I choose my child’s schedule?

Yes.

  • Group programs use fixed time slots shown during registration

One-on-one sessions are scheduled flexibly within available windows

What curriculum do you follow?

We adapt to your child’s needs. This may include:

  • Excel Tutors’ Country-aligned curriculum
  • Parent-provided curriculum
  • Exam-specific or enrichment goals

We are not tied to one country or school system.

Is learning project-based?

Yes. Each term includes project-based learning, where students work toward real outcomes that demonstrate understanding and skill development.

Will my child be ahead of school learning?

Our programs are designed to reinforce, extend, or accelerate learning depending on the child’s level and goals without overwhelming them.

How do parents track progress?

Parents have access to dashboards showing:

  • Attendance
  • Participation
  • Assignments
  • Learning milestones

Regular feedback is shared to keep parents informed and involved.

Will my child receive assignments?

Yes. Assignments and guided practice are included as part of structured learning and skill reinforcement.

What does my child need to attend classes?

  • Laptop or tablet
  • Stable internet connection
  • Headphones

A drawing tablet is recommended for Maths, Science, coding, and writing activities, but not mandatory.

 

Can I enroll more than one child?

Yes. You can add multiple children during registration, each with their own schedule and program.

How does class placement work?

Class placement is based on:

  • Availability
  • Selected slots
  • Program capacity

Confirmation is provided after registration.

How are payments handled?

Payments are made on a monthly basis, according to the selected program.

Can I switch programs later?

Yes. Families can move between programs if learning needs or schedules change.

What is the withdrawal notice period?

  • Excel Core & Essentials– 1 month
  • Excel FlexiLearn– 3 months
  • Excel BYOT– 1 month

Notice periods help ensure smooth planning and tutor allocation.

Who designs and oversees the learning programs?

All academic structure and content are overseen by Eunice, a Director in Child Education with over 30 years of experience working with children, teachers, and learning systems.

Are tutors trained and vetted?

Yes. Tutors working through Excel Tutors are selected, trained, and supported to ensure lessons are age-appropriate, engaging, and academically sound.

Is the platform safe for children?

Yes. Our platform is designed specifically for children, with safety, clarity, and parental oversight built in.

Are lessons recorded?

Lessons may be recorded for quality assurance, tutor review, and learning support, in line with platform policies.
